Cyrus Still Hurt After Photo Scandal

Miley Cyrus is still healing after the Vanity Fair magazine photo scandal which threatened her status as America’s top teen star.The 15-year-old singer was snapped topless, wearing just a bedsheet, by celebrity photographer Annie Leibowitz for the magazine’s June issue.

The photo provoked outrage – and Cyrus is still reeling from the public outcry about the candid photos.

Having weathered the storm, the Hannah Montana star admits she made a mistake in stripping off for Vanity Fair: “It still hurts when I think about it. I was embarrassed… but also it’s, like, every career thing that I do can’t be perfect, and sometimes my decisions are wrong.”

But she’s confident die-hard fans have forgiven her, and will learn to love her for her faults as well as her successes.

Cyrus adds, “I don’t think people will look at me any differently because they’re like, ‘You know what, I’m going to do stupid stuff too, and I’m going to make mistakes, and that’s fine.’”

Cyrus to Land Her Own Teen Talk Show?

Miley Cyrus is reportedly in discussions to launch her own teen talk show.

The Hannah Montana star met model-turned-TV presenter Tyra Banks during a trip to Nashville, Tennessee in May, and the pair is planning to produce a younger version of Banks’ own show.

A source tells Star magazine, “Tyra wants to produce a show for Miley.”

“Miley already has a huge following among teen girls, so her show would likely be successful. Tyra sees Miley’s potential.”

Cyrus Penned Love Song About Celebrity

The Hannah Montana star became a huge fan of the singer when he was part of now defunct boyband Dream – and the star was the inspiration behind the first song the 15-year-old penned.

But Cyrus was left embarrassed after she was introduced to the McCartney shortly after moving to Hollywood, because he branded her lyrical tribute “cute”.

She says, “It was so embarrassing, when I first moved to Los Angeles, I had a crush on Jesse McCartney.”

“In fact, the first song I ever wrote was about Jesse. He was on my show and I told him and he was like, ‘That’s so cute!’”

But Cyrus has now set her sights on a slightly more mature man.

She adds, “Orlando Bloom is gorgeous, but he’s a bit of a player.”

Leave Miley Cyrus Alone, Says TV Producer

The creator of hit TV show Hannah Montana has called on the press to leave Miley Cyrus alone – insisting the media is unfairly scrutinising her life.

Cyrus, 15, shot to international fame on the Disney Channel programme, but has been hit by a series of scandals throughout this year.

Most recently, the teen was accused of inappropriately flaunting her body in a controversial Vanity Fair photoshoot.

But Michael Poryes, co-creator and executive producer of the series, insists the media should stop giving Cyrus a hard time, as she is just going through the usual stresses of being a teenager.

He says, “To say the tabloids are paying attention to her is a very kind way of saying it. It becomes like Miley Cyrus bites her finger nails is news at 11.

“They don’t give her a break for being able to go through the aches and pains of being an adolescent. Everyone has the right to go through being an adolescent. They blow everything out of proportion and a little misstep becomes the biggest tragedy that ever struck mankind.”

And Poryes reveals that everyone involved with the TV show is going out of their way to make Cyrus feel better about herself

Who’s That Girl? More Saucy Cyrus Snaps Online?

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus has been caught up in a fresh photo scandal after saucy shots of a girl, who resembles her, stripping have appeared online.

The snaps are similar to those which appeared on website MySpace.com last month, and come just weeks after the 15 year old was forced to defend her decision to pose topless in a bedsheet for a Vanity Fair shoot.

In the new pictures, a girl bearing an uncanny likeness to Cyrus holds a t-shirt up with her teeth, showing a bare stomach and red panties.

According to blog Oceanup.com the snapshots were emailed to pop star Nick Jonas when the pair dated last year.

If the shots prove to be genuine, the pictures will further compromise her image as a child-friendly star, and pile pressure on her employers at Disney to address her penchant for posing provocatively.

Although Cyrus apologised for the Vanity Fair photoshoot, she refused to accept she shouldn’t pose in private snaps.

After the last set of pictures appeared on MySpace, she said, “For me, I was like, ‘It’s not a big deal.’ But they got spread around. Like someone copied and pasted and said, ‘Oh my God, look at this, and blah blah blah.’”

Cyrus At Centre Of Candy Controversy

Teen star Miley Cyrus has become the focus of yet another controversy, after a photo agency filed suit against her Disney bosses for copyright infringement in relation to a range of Hannah Montana-branded candies – which feature her face on the packaging.

Bosses at Oklahoma-based company Glamour Shots claim the Hannah Montana Glamour Shots Candy, placed on Disney store shelves, misleads buyers into believing the photo agency made the treats.

The candy is packaged in a small picture frame with Cyrus featured inside.

In court documents obtained by website TMZ.com, Glamour Shots executives have also accused Disney of false advertising and unfair competition, and are requesting the case to go to trial to determine damages.

A spokesperson for Disney declined to comment on the suit.

Cyrus, 15, has become the subject of various debates since her pop star image was tarnished by the release of ’sexy’ images from a controversial photoshoot with Annie Leibovitz for June’s edition of Vanity Fair magazine.

Cyrus Defends ‘Stolen’ Song

Teen star Miley Cyrus has hit back at accusations she ripped off a Los Angeles band’s song – because she doesn’t write any of her own music.

Los Angeles band Lustra fired claims Cyrus’ song Rockstar is a carbon copy of their Scotty Doesn’t Know tune on Wednesday.

The band – whose track appeared on the soundtrack to 2004 movie Eurotrip – was alerted to Cyrus’ song-similarities by fans, and has since determined the tunes are virtually the same, despite mismatching lyrics.

A spokesperson for Cyrus insists, “She doesn’t write the songs – she sings them. We have referred this to Disney.”

According to The New York Post, the band “is considering various options to rectify this situation”.

Miley Cyrus’ First Performance after ‘Vanity Fair’ Photos!

Not far removed from an uproar created by her recent Vanity Fair “topless” portrait, a still-smiling Miley Cyrus took to the stage at the Disney Channel Games concert on Saturday night (May 3).

Thanking fans for their continued support, Miley spoke to the crowd following her performance, saying: “I hope you had an awesome time. I saw a sign back there that said, ‘Miley, I’m praying for you.’ I could not be more appreciative.”

The 15-year-old Disney star continued: “Thank you guys for all your support. Without you, none of this would be possible. I love every one of you and I could not be more appreciative. God bless you.”

According to People reports, Cyrus started the night off with her hit tune “See You Again” – also debuting two new songs off of her upcoming album, “Fly on the Wall” and “Breakout.”

Selena Gomez May Be Taking Miley Cyrus’ Spotlight on Disney?

Is the onscreen competition between Miley Cyrus and fellow tween Disney sensation Selena Gomez about to get real?

I’m told Disney executives are so worried about Cyrus’ recent controversies that, more than ever, they want to make Gomez an even bigger star.

The 15-year-old Gomez now stars in the Disney Channel hit Wizards of Waverly Place, but last year she appeared on two episodes of Hannah Montana as Mikayla, one of Hannah’s pop star rivals.

“Selena sings and acts and is really young,” a source reports. “She is going to be the next Miley Cyrus. [Disney executives] really want this.”

Next up for Gomez is the Warner Bros. movie Another Cinderella Story, scheduled for a fall release. No surprise, but I’ve just learned that Gomez has recorded several new songs for the flick.

“The studio has high hopes for this,” says my source.

But a Disney rep insists there are no plans to try and replace Cyrus in any way with Gomez.

“We are fortunate to work with a host of young actors and actresses who are each unique and making their own trajectory based on their talent,” the rep said via email this morning. “However, Wizards of Waverly Place is a bona fide hit with kids and families, and licensees and retailers are indeed interested in the series. As for Selena, she deserves all the success that’s coming her way.”

Note to Gomez: If Vanity Fair comes calling, wait a few years before calling them back.
